Finland’s Leading Hotel 2011

International recognition for Restel’s flagship for the fourth year running

The Crowne Plaza Helsinki hotel has now been awarded the title “Finland’s Leading Hotel” for the fourth consecutive year. The internationally prestigious World Travel Awards ceremony, hailed as “The Oscars of the Travel Industry,” took place this year in Antalya, Turkey. The World Travel Awards were established in 1993 to inspire excellence in the industry and and recognize achievements as well as to celebrate successful brands.

“This is an unbelievable feeling,” says Saija Savela-Palovaara, General Manager of the Crowne Plaza Helsinki. “Our hotel’s receiving such a distinguished award for four years in a row has been received with enthusiasm by our company. The consistent work we have done to enhance our services and products has followed the right path. Positive customer feedback, for instance about our Sleep Advantage Programme, and international recognition at this level lift our spirits and further spur our motivation,” Savela-Palovaara adds.

The World Travel Awards prizewinners were selected by over 210,000 travel industry professionals, including travel agents, tour operators, transport companies and other travel industry organizations in more than 160 countries worldwide. Candidates for the World Travel Awards are nominated by an independent panel of travel industry experts. Graham E. Cooke, President and Founder, World Travel Awards said at the ceremony: “During times of economic uncertainty world-class brands come into their own, continuing to grow market share whilst competitors flounder.”

Other nominees this year for the title “Finland’s Leading Hotel” were the Hilton Helsinki Strand, Hotel Kämp, Klaus K, and Scandic Simonkenttä hotels.
